Denota el período de resurgimiento católico desde el pontificado del Papa <a title="Pío IV" href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%ADo_IV">Pío IV</a> en <a title="1560" href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/1560">1560</a> hasta el fin de la <a title="Guerra de los Treinta Años" href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerra_de_los_Treinta_A%C3%B1os">Guerra de los Treinta Años</a>, en <a title="1648" href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/1648">1648</a>. Sus objetivos fueron renovar la Iglesia y evitar el avance de las doctrinas <a title="Protestantismo" href="http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protestantismo">protestantes</a>.</p>
